Why Ancestry and Ethnicity?
Along with other basic information, ethnicity and ancestry can help identify (or eliminate) a particular disease. For example, if you describe symptoms that indicate sickle cell anemia but your ancestry is Norwegian, a physician could more readily eliminate sickle cell anemia as a possible diagnosis.
